On August 16, 2025 we celebrate our 22nd Annual Glen Keeley Memorial Bull Riding and pay tribute to one of rodeo’s most influential cowboys.
Glen Keeley was taken from us on March 24, 2000 in a bull riding incident at the PBR Ty Murray Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Glen started his rodeo career riding steers in an arena set up at his parents’ ranch. Before long, he progressed to local amateur rodeos in Nanton and Stavely. Graduating from the amateur ranks,
Glen started riding bulls in the CPRA at the age of 17. By age 18 Glen won the CPRA Bull Riding Championship, becoming the youngest champion ever – a record that still stands today.
In 1992 Glen qualified for the National Finals Rodeo and shortly thereafter began to ride in the PBR circuit, establishing himself as one of North America’s top bull riders.
Glen was, and still is, a bull riding icon and a true champion. The stickers created in tribute to Glen can still be seen on many protective vests, at rodeo events both north and south of the border.
They are a reflection of the positive impact Glen made in the sport, and in the lives of his fellow cowboys. His spirit and memory lives on.
