The Glen Keeley Memorial Bull Riding committee was established in 2003, after Glen's passing his family and closest friends wanted to do something to
pay tribute to this one-of-a-kind cowboy that was taken too soon. They wanted a world-class event that would ensure Glen's memory would live on forgotten.
The first event was held the long weekend September 2004, today, more than 20 years later the GKMBR has been voted PBR Canada Bull Riding of the Year 4x.
Bull Riders and fans alike would all agree this is a one-of-a-kind event just like the cowboy it is named after.
Besides hosting a world-class event the main objective of this group was to give back to the community that Glen grew up in by establishing the
Glen Keeley Memorial Benevolent & Scholarship Fund. The GKMBR is a Non-Profit event that gives all proceeds back to the community. When you support this event through
sponsorship or purchasing your tickets you are contributing to this goal of helping others. The Benevolent Fund helps groups, families and individuals within our community
that are are in need of support. Each year graduates from the neighbouring community are invited to apply for the GKMBR Scholarship,
scholarships are given to four individuals that have demonstrated outstanding qualities in the areas of leadership,
community spirit and involvement in extra-curricular activities.
